Berwick Police Department

Non Emergency

Important Dispatch / Communications Information:

Effective 8/29/18, the Town of Berwick will be utilizing dispatch services from the Sanford Regional Communications Center.  The Town of Berwick citizens will use the same non-emergency numbers (207-698-1136 or 207 698-1384 - option #1 for both) to reach dispatch.  Any emergency calls should be made using 911.

We ask the Berwick citizens for their patience as we transition to Sanford.  As the safety of our citizens is our first and foremost priority, we ask if you contact dispatch and have any difficulties, please make us aware as soon as possible so that we may address the issue.

If your call is transferred to the Berwick Police Department Office for records, questions, leaving a message for an officer, etc., please be aware you will now hear a "call tree" with multiple options.  Please listen carefully to the options before making your choice.  We understand this may be time consuming and frustrating for you, but we are trying to make it effortless for the citizens of Berwick.

These differences are for telephone calls only.  The office is still open Monday thru Friday from 8:30am-4:30pm for any walk-in services.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our office.

Timothy R. Towne

Chief of Police

The Berwick Police Department welcomes the opportunity to meet the citizens of Berwick and would like to encourage people to stop by the Department to introduce themselves.  The Police Department is located at 20 Wilson St.  If you need to Report a Crime "Non-Emergency" or just speak with an officer, please call (207) 698-1136.  The Berwick Police Department greatly benefits by ENHANCED 9-1-1.  With ENHANCED 9-1-1, the Emergency dispatcher has immediate access to the callers address and telephone number, thus allowing a faster response for emergency personnel.  The ENHANCED 9-1-1 also includes TTY technology that allows the Dispatcher to communicate with the hearing impaired.  The Berwick Police Department strongly encourages the use of 9-1-1, but requests that callers limit its use to EMERGENCY CALLS ONLY.  If you have an EMERGENCY, please dial 9-1-1 and tell the Dispatcher your emergency in a calm and detailed manner.  We, the members of the Berwick Police Department, are not only your Police Force, but we are also your neighbors.
