Timothy R. Towne
Chief of Police
Important Dispatch / Communications Information:
Since 8/29/2018, the Town of Berwick utilizes dispatch services from the Sanford Regional Communications Center. Berwick residents should use the non-emergency numbers (207-698-1136 or 207 698-1384 - option #1 for both) to reach dispatch. Any emergency calls should be made using 911.
If your call is transferred to the Berwick Police Department office for records, questions, leaving a message for an officer, etc., please be aware you will now hear a "call tree" with multiple options. Listen carefully to the options before making your choice. We understand this may be time consuming and frustrating for you, but we appreciate your patience.
The office is open Monday thru Friday from 8:30am-4:30pm for any walk-in services.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our office.
The Berwick Police Department welcomes the opportunity to meet the citizens of Berwick and would like to encourage people to stop by the Department to introduce themselves. The Police Department is located at 20 Wilson St. If you need to Report a Crime "Non-Emergency" or just speak with an officer, please call (207) 698-1136. The Berwick Police Department greatly benefits by ENHANCED 9-1-1. With ENHANCED 9-1-1, the Emergency dispatcher has immediate access to the callers address and telephone number, thus allowing a faster response for emergency personnel. The ENHANCED 9-1-1 also includes TTY technology that allows the Dispatcher to communicate with the hearing impaired. The Berwick Police Department strongly encourages the use of 9-1-1, but requests that callers limit its use to EMERGENCY CALLS ONLY. If you have an EMERGENCY, please dial 9-1-1 and tell the Dispatcher your emergency in a calm and detailed manner. We, the members of the Berwick Police Department, are not only your Police Force, but we are also your neighbors.
